Student exchange 2025

Special about this year's studentexchange was that the director of the Gymnázium Havlíčkův

Brod, Hynek Bouchal (middle), decided to travel to Brielle for the first few days of the visit. The

last time he did that was in 2008. He participated in the exchange program for the first three

days. Normally, the directors don't participate in studentexchanges, making his visit quite

unique!

Like the students, he visited Brielle's hot spots and the schools Maerlant and Bahurim. He also

joined the lunch at Maerlant with mayor Arno Scheepers, the students and directors of

Maerlant, Michael Scheffers (right), and Bahurim, Danny Weeda (left). He also joined the visit to

Amsterdam and The Hague

During a dinner with the directors and exchange team (both Dutch and Czech), the directors

expressed their admiration for each other and how valuable they all found it that the directors

were participating in the visit. Michael Scheffers and Danny Weeda also joined the exchange in

Havlíčkův Brod earlier. This way, they learn from each other's schools and from education in

another country. Gifts were exchanged. The director received the skyline of Brielle, created by

students from Maerlant. We hope it will find a prominent place in his office! ��
